When I first joined eBay in the late 90's I owned & operated a one man plumbing shop. I've always had a fascination with cool old stuff & buying on eBay allowed me to feed my desire to acquire. In 2004 I realized I was tired of plumbing & moved into real estate sales. I never gave up my love of collecting cool old stuff & in 2008 when the bottom fell out of the real estate market I decided to make my hobby into a business. I started out working for a local estate sale company while searching for items at thrift stores, auctions, garage sales, antique malls & storage auctions. I sold my finds at the local antique mall or to other pickers & in early 2013 I started selling on eBay. My eBay user name is a condensed version of a slang term for a plumber so when it was time to name my store "The Plumber's Basement" was the logical choice because that's where I store my stuff. I don't make anywhere near the money I did when I was a plumber......but I don't hate going to work either.
