If you already own iPhone you don't need another.
Before buying my iPhone 4S I had an iPhone 3G. To be honest the only reason I upgraded is because I felt like I was being judged for not having the latest iPhone. Not because of the phone itself but the general notion it's only acceptable to have one of the last smart phones available. So I brought a second hand phone of eBay and excitedly waited just to receive a phone that in all seriousness is no fricken different to the phone I already have. (Oh except for the fact that whilst recording a video no sound is recorded just static?!) Anyway It's like waiting to open your Christmas presents and then when you do it's just the same toys you already have just brand new. Yes it's got a bigger and better screen and yes it looks much prettier in its new square shape. But to me upgrading this phone was pure stupidly I should have just brought a pretty case and saved myself $500. This only applies to the people like myself buying into the hype of owning the latest technology when the phone you already have only came out 6 months prior. However if you have an old school phone I highly recommend buying a iPhone. They are easy and enjoyable to use. The camera is decent and for a smart phone the battery life is reasonable. Personally I run my whole life through mine. It's my computer, my phone, my camera, my calendar, my organiser, my everything. My emails come directly to my phone so I never miss any important or urgent business emails and having the apps I can shop till my hearts content. Basically I'm trying to say if you already own a iPhone 3 or above there is honestly no need and no reason to upgrade just yet but if you don't have an iPhone get one!
