The debut of Legion!
Heaven Shall Burn is the debut of one of the best black metal vokillist I have ever heard! His vokill style is actually deep, but somehow it's still kind of high at the same time,it fits perfectly with the music. Just like the booklet says,it does really sound like the mouth of satan. I loved Legion b/c he doesn't just try so scream as loud and as high pitched as he can the whole time, that's why I never got into black metal until I heard Marduk and Immortal.
Onto the music, this is one of the best Marduk albums musically, all the elements seemed to come together perfectly on this album. Fredrick Anderson's debut on Opus Nocturne was already amazing, but you have to hear his drumming on this release! I remember when I first started listening to extreme metal,I thought the drums were fake...like I thought that it was impossible to play that fast, well, these guys are real, they pull it off live all the time! His drumming is a like a lot of my other favorite extreme metal drummers, deadly accurate and very precise, but not so boring where as to just sound like a drum machine.
B. War plays some of the best bass lines that I have ever heard in metal period, but espicially black metal.
Morgan's guitars just slice everything up.
Get the remastered version, the origanl sounded good, but this one sounds great!!

Another Brutal Vomitory Classick!
Primal Massace is Vomitorys 5th full-length cd and their 3rd for Metal Blade records. The album starts off with a sound that for some reason reminds me of the album cover, like a slide of sludge-like lava coming to melt your face off and destroy your senses. And, that is exactly what Vomitory manages to do with their 3rd Metal Blade release. The band blasts and grinds right into their trademark Vomitory sound right from the opening title track. I love this bands ability to make in your face brutal grinding death metal but with nice little breakdowns and enough starts and stops that keep the songs interesting throughout the whole album.
A perfect example of this would be Demon's Divine.
Also, I love how this band sounds like generic death metal at first listen, but if you take the time to really give this some spins, you'll see that they are light years ahead of most "brutal" death metal bands.
Just listen to the drummer, with all of his drum rolls and china crashes, he has machine like precision but his above average fills and cymbal crashes make it sound not so sterile.
If you love brutal death metal with a bite, then pick this up!
And remember to give it a couple of really good sound listens so you can really hear all of what's going on in the songs.

Another spectacular release from The Chasm
This is The Chasm's major label debut (finally after all of these years!). This is their 6th full-length album and they also have one ep out that is better than 95% of other bands full-length albums.
Why it took so long for them to get noticed and to be taken seriously is beyond my comprehension. Any crappy clone band or "new metal" mallcore crap gets singed and distrubuted all over the planet but when it come to REAL Metal Of Death, they have to struggle for over a decade...
This is another epic Chasm masterpiece. This band isn't your typical straight-forward death metal, this will take some spins to fully grasp and understand what is going on here. This band is one of the only progressive metal bands that I like, or come to think of it, they are the only ONE that I like. And fon't be turned away from the term progressive, we aren't talking metallica here so don't worry, haha.
Really, instead of me just trying to babble on like I know what I'm talking about trying to describe the music, just take a chance and check them out for yourself. They are one of the most under-rated Metal bands of all time. They make Metal the old way, from the heart and soul. Rarely do you ever hear that in the extreme genres and espically death metal.
Check them out of you want some authentic Metal Of Death from the heart and soul. It will take some time to digest but it is well worth it. Maybe someone else can describe the music better than I can, just do a google search of their albums.
Highly recommended~
