Good book, but old, and not pure ASL.
This is a relatively old book and has some English signs, so if you are trying to learn pure ASL, be careful. Otherwise, the book does a great job teaching Sign Language.
The pictures are very descriptive, and make it easy to understand which sign is which. The written portion of the book is also very helpful. The practice exercises mimic real life situations you may run into when trying to communicate with a Deaf person. The book also incorporates little tidbits of Deaf culture here and there such as it is customary for the Deaf to give their first and last names when first introduced.
I bought this book used, and the copy I purchased did not come with the DVD that is supposed to come with the book, so I can't provide any feedback on that aspect.
In all, this book does a good job teaching Sign Language, but again, it's not pure ASL, so watch out if learning pure ASL is your goal.
