Type OK, individual unit unacceptable
It's a pretty standard HDD. I've been using them in a RAID 1 array on both my wife's and my computer. The unit was bought as a spare, in case one fails. I've been using the Hitachi (and before Hitachi took them over) IBM HDD in preference to other brands for a decade because bootable S/W for checking, exercising and failure reporting is the available from the manufacturer. The failure report (on a floppy) can be used to generate an RMA from the web. That gets you an email with instructions, RMA #, etc. You ship and they ship after receiving failed unit - EASY.
The particular unit was listed as New, but turned out to be short-dated (Hitachi generally has a 3-year warranty starting at date of mfr - or that of HDD replaced under warranty) and had been opened and formatted. I didn't test it beyond that and returned it as not per description. Received refund.

Great insights into human behavior through humor
This book is a very amusing satire of our all-too-human behavior in groups. Was again reminded of Parkinson's Law of Triviality while sitting through an annual meeting of a non-profit's Board of Directors. Had borrowed the 1957 book from a library perhaps a decade ago and decided, this time, to acquire a copy.
My sister saw it and, after reading that chapter (#3), wanted a copy for herself and offspring, so bought another copy. Perfect Christmas present.
Don't remember where I first read that chapter's material - it may have been in a magazine in the mid-50's or I may just have heard it at that time.
This Bucaneer Books offprint has some small printing quality defects, but is a bargain for an out-of-print book. The second copy was without printing defects.
