Doesn't translate well, too hard to read - Get a DVD course instead.
Really hard to follow. See, the original Quran was written in a sacred language, and the intensity of that doesn't translate at all. This reads like one long poem, because the author wrote it to include 'breaks' in hopes the reader would stop and absorb everything that preceded ...not just absorb, but sit in awe of the text as if it were written in a sacred language. Of course, the breaks occur at every line, just like in poetry. Additionally, this is not the entire Quran (which is several books). This is a selection of passages from the Quran, intended to give the reader a good basis for the material. Note this book is spelled K-O-R-A-N (not Quran) to differentiate. I was hoping to get a better understanding of where the teachings of Muhammad & Christ differed, and was pleasantly surprised to read that Muhammad acknowledges Christ 500-years before him, as one of several that were enlightened by God to profit mankind. Of course, with the difficulty getting past the monotonous pace of the text, I ended up ordering a Islam religion college course on DVD to give me a better foundation before I try reading this book again.
The Power of Birthdays, Stars & Numbers: The Complete Personology Reference...

Not quite as good as "The Secret Language of Birthdays"
I was totally fascinated with "The Secret Language of Birthdays" (Penguin books, 1994) by Gary Goldschneider & Joost Elffers. This book was an impulse buy because of the topic similarity and interest generated through my fascination with the other book. While both books have a scary-accurate way of identifying personality traits, it seems that "The Power of Birthdays, Stars & Numbers" (this item) was a little more generic and lightly written. Both books are good ...but "The Secret Language of Birthdays" is better, with more in-depth reveals and advice for living with the personality traits common amongst people born on the same day.
THE Original Can Crusher Can Ram by Rhino Bilt- Aluminum Can Crusher / Smasher
14 December 2016
Does the job, for a while.
I've had 4 different can crushers over the last decade, including one of these "Can Rams" which finally broke after about 3-years use. My chief complaint with ALL can crushers is that they only reduce the can to about 80% of the original size, so the crushed can is 2-3 times bigger than I would get by stomping on it with my foot. This model is comparable in that respect The assembly process was tougher than every other model I have used, taking longer to set up the plastic funnel that holds the cans prior to dropping into the crushing chute. During use, that same plastic funnel is flimsy, so the cans can jump around, disrupting the entire stack. The core of this crusher is the ram & handle assembly, both made of plastic. While the handle is still perfectly usable, the ramming piece cracked after 2-years of use (I reinforced it with polyurethane resin and it lasted another year). Additionally, it is connected to the handle with a sliding 'pin' that tends to slide out of place during operation, allowing the ramming piece to tweak off the assembly, break and disrupt the stack of uncrushed cans & funnel, leaving you with a mess to clean up. During operation, things can go smoothly, but its inevitable that a can will go sideways, or the ramming piece will twist off the connecting pin ...and this just seems to happen more often with this model! Multi-can loading is a feature that I appreciate, but really is not significantly helpful, as you end up loading the funnel one can at a time anyway ...coupled with this model's propensity to jam, you have to ask "does it really save time?"
