Not as rugged as it needs to be!
I have used and fitted electric gates for many years and these are definitely "domestic" only. I have used them at home and they are much better than the underground ones being away from water and much easier to service and repair.
A major design fault is the plastic bevel gear which drives the gate. The gear tends to get sloppy on its mounting and slips (the gate gates noisy when operated. I have had to "bush" them out to get them to mesh again - sometimes after only a few months use. It is an easy job and usually a suitable washer does fine.
Also the key locking mechanism is dreadful and after a few turns of the key starts to fail. It is just a plastic cam which pushes a rod to disengage the motor from the drive and it is just not robust enough. Metal parts would probably solve both these issues.
Having said the above I prefer them to the underground versions which were terrible and failed with monotonous regularity.
The BFT electronics on the other hand have been 1st class with no failures in 12 years!
I have bought this unit as a spare as I expect my 12 month old units to fail.
Do not pay top price for these units... shop around and you will get them from Italy of Poland MUCH cheaper and they then represent OK value but be prepared to keep them well lubricated and replace the bevel gear after a while. You can buy spare bevel gears from Italy for about £30 including postage. ( a lot for a plastic gear wheel!)

Works well...
This device appears to be well made and is easy to set up, with good instructions. We cannot get cable broadband at our farm so we use a mobile 4g wifi device from EE which had limited range in the house and the wireless printer did not receive a signal. After installation we have wifi throughout the house and it appears to be stable and reliable.
I like it.

This is unbelievable for the money... really delighted with it and nothing bad to say. Well made and looks great. Easy to fit.
