Rare bird.
The product is very well engineered and molded. Surface detail is excellent. One of the general review questions was about "durability": no, it is not "durable" because the item under review is a plastic model kit which is inherently fragile. The model kit represents a very limited scope of a class of American naval vessel; only two manufacturers have produced this class for the hobbyist. It was an honor to have worked on the real vessels.

Is Fujimi testing the waters?
It's a rare addition to the 1/200th scale plastic ship model category. It would hint another 1/200th HIJMS Yamato could be offered to the plastic model ship enthusiast, courtesy of Fujimi updating the previous Nichimo version. It would do the Yamato-class justice.

Classic model of an important subject.
Most accurate detail for the scale and price point. Well engineered molds and thoughtful build sequence. And, the box even has a handle!
