JUST FRIENDS: A MEMOIR OF LOVE & DECEIT By Brewer - Hardcover **Excellent**

Interesting if you knew the characters in real life
Unless you know the characters in this book, you probably won't like reading it. If you were in Memphis in the late 1970s and early '80s and are familiar with the characters, then it will be quite entertaining. The author tells the story of his marriage to a woman nearly 20 years his junior. It is a second marriage for both. He never mentions her by name in the book, referring to her only as his wife. She had become a mother at 18, got her degree, and was just about to start her ambitious career as a businesswoman, radio personality, and city planner. He was a successful journalist and handsome local television personality. He was also approaching 40 with a wife and family. She needed the contacts and high profile exposure that he could provide. He was having a midlife crisis and fell in love with her. Then about 15 years later as she approached 40, she had her midlife crisis. She loved to go out dancing. He didn't. She started spending time with other guys but always assured her husband that they were "just friends." He stalked her and proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that they weren't "just friends."

    Very interesting
I enjoyed reading this book. It was not so technical that my eyes glazed over, but it wasn't just fluff. He tells an interesting story about how the 747 came to be and how it changed aviation.
