A PG-13 family movie experience
1 of 1 found this helpful I have enjoyed this movie since it aired in 1984. I was young and the special effects were just right to let every age see. For a sci-fi movie, I feel it is closer to family oriented more than many movies since. I am glad to be able to share the movies of my childhood just like the mother had done with me. I so not, however, appreciate what the remake did to the story and how my children ran from the room. I believe modern remakes have a tendency to make originals even more desirable.

The Timetables of History
Not just for us, but for a friend. At a recent gathering of friends and family, I brought this book to share. It was so popular, a long time friend wanted to know where we had gotten our copy. We had found ours in a local thrift store. Disappointed, he wondered where he could find one (he could afford). We found it and now we swap facts about events we hadn't realized had occurred at the same time. I also use it to guide my children in history lessons. I'm learning just as much as they are.
