Len cover track broken in middle of slide on Camera

All items were good but the camera len cover slide was broken, so a person had to hold the len cover with their hand pushing down for the len to come out to take the picture. This was the issue I had with my old camera of the same type and why I bought this one to replace it. There was no mention on the list of the camera that was being sold that the track on the lens cover was broken.
