Wonderful unit

I bought this to use outside, to do canning and reduce tomatoes to sauce outside, as well as cooking onions and bacon. I wanted to keep the steam and smells outside. This is perfect. The temperature control is completely variable from it's lowest to highest settings. No 'notches' or imperfect heat setting. A few reviews whine about not enough power. Wrong. Get a FLAT pan that has a good interface with the heating surface, and this will do anything asked. Use a warped pan, and all your heat will be wasted. As long as it lasts (Cuisinart stuff usually does well here), this is a bargain. I would pay double for this.
