deep purple- new, live & rare (2001)vhs
i like very much deep purple and it is one of the hard rock bands that i frequently listen to. this release is somewhat good , but i think it lacks the intensity of the old deep purple to mention one in "made in Japan". overall, it,s still entertaining.

perfect blends
2 of 2 found this helpful i rated this excellent cause they are balanced in presentation. most of them are my favorites let,s say styx, grand funk railroad and all of them. mitch ryder was the only one i am not familiar with. their songs performed here are really hits with iron butterfly in in a gadda da vida, cris cross in sailing. most notable are guitars in iron butterfly, the chemistry of styx(the voice of dennis de young still hasn,t changed. the only thing i least like is that they should have made recordings when they are at their peak though how old it may be. anyway, the sound is still alike and the performance.

the power of the who
i rated this excellent. this is the old who and has a distinct sound like any other popular band. there,s much power in them, the voice of roger daltrey, the guitar of pete townsend and drums of keith moon. bass of entwhistle is also good. it is a very selected mixture of who compositions and from the soundtrack of "tommy". the song "were not gonna take it" remains unbeatable in soundtracks. well, as it goes, there,s much energy in " THE WHO"
