Elizabeth Zimmermann's Knitters' Almanac
3 of 3 found this helpful Although Ms Zimmerman does not give stitch by stitch instructions for projects in this book, her step by step allows the knitter to make the project their own. The knitter has the ability to take the "outline" of the pattern and reduce, enlarge embellish however it pleases you. The finished projects themselves are useful and unique. The stories Ms Zimmermann tells as she moves from month to month (there is a project to be worked on in each month's story) are tales that we can all relate to. I found this book to be a great reference and very freeing from the normal patterns that can lock you into only one way of doing a project.
