Julie London: Around Midnight
I like the artistry of Julie London. I like this CD because it isn't a compilation of two or more recordings. I like a CD that is the length of the original LP recording and has a concept like ballads, big band, or a small group. Many of these compilation CDs are a mish mash of one track a ballad, then a big band, and then something else so that there is no theme tom the disc, just cramming as much music onto a disc as possible. The song selections on this disc and the arrangements are great. Julie London's musical ideas and interpretations are original, and I love her voice.
