Just Learning Android Development, and need a Tablet, get this one
It's an Android tablet with wifi, and not much else -- no frills. But, ..., this is a great tablet for a learning environment. They're a good value for their price; plentifully available; factory-refresh-firmware is easily available online; the hardware and OS easily interfaces with Android Studio -- including in Linux environments. If you want a great tablet for an "intro to Android development class," this is the tablet to get.

Just a phone
I purchased this used, so my specific phone has less than a 24 hour battery life, and I can't fairly comment on it. Besides, I one have a phone because I have to.
