The Reader: A heavy duty look back at 1950s Germany
This is an outstanding production on many points. It gives the viewer a look back at Post WWII Germany and the many issues the country faced from its deep black history under the defeated Nazi regime. Memories are what keep coming back in the movie with the actors. Under the conflict and confusion of the 1950s, post Nazi scape goats and sexual freedom and experimentation are presented in a very haunting way. This is a movie that is upsetting because it is so good and gets to so many difficult issues in life. Very believable ........ you feel like you have lived the part with the actors! Kate Winslet and David Kross play their parts to a T.

The Faberge Case: One of the top books illlustrating Faberge's Workmanship
The Faberge Case by John Traina has some of the very best examples of Faberge cases. The photography and colors are spectacular. As a collector's reference book for examples of Faberge work or simply a coffee table book for browsing, this book is unsurpassed. I know of no other book that has so many fine examples of Faberge and these come from the collection of the book's author, John Traina. The book has sections written by the author, Archduke Geza von Habsburg and Danielle Steel. The chapter by Steel is fascinating as she brings her own personal view of the "collector" having been Traina's partner for two decades.
