Barney Miller The Complete Series
8 of 8 found this helpful This was one of the funniest shows on television during the 70's. It was set in a small New York City police precinct in the Village. It was about the daily grind of the detective squad dealing with a parade of criminals and victims. The humour could be subtle at times, and occasionally you had to think for a minute to appreciate it. But it was always amusing to watch the detectives "play" with the criminals or spin the situation to calm down victims. The casting of the regular actors and guests were always well done. I was sorry to see it leave network television in 1982.
The DVD package comes in 4 cases, each containing 2 seasons. It also comes with the 1st season of the spin-off series "Fish". The video and audio quality are very good overall. The video quality of season 1 seems to be of slightly lesser quality. But that could be the quality of the source (which is over 40 years old).
If you've never seen this series, let me tell you that it's very dated - firmly set in the mid-1970's. If that doesn't matter to you, I think you'll really like it.

The Prisoner Blue Ray

A fine polarizer filter that enhances skies and reduces water reflections
I needed a 67mm polarizer filter for a new lens I bought a while ago. I have Hoya filters for other lenses I've been happy with, so getting this filter was a no-brainer. I used it on a trip to South Dakota a few weeks ago and it really worked well. I was very pleased with the color of the skies. My only issue was the use of other filters with this filter. I had a UV filter on the lens and had some difficulty removing the polarizer. In the end, I removed the UV filter. All was well -- until I dropped the camera right on the lens. The lens was saved from damage - by the polarizer filter, which did not survive. I'll be buying a new one soon.
