Canon-PIXMA-MG2520 (2922) All in one inkjet-Printer-Print-copy-scan-for students

Okay but a hassle
This printer- comes with a cd- and an online manual- which DOES NOT say it's only for a PC- so I wasted an hour or two trying to put it on my Mac (why not say it on the cd/dvd?) then the manual says for online download of the driver- you need to "download "on your pc"- which left me afraid it wouldn't work on my mac- and then afraid if it downloaded it- (who knows what trouble it could bring to my computer)?!!!!- since it only said "pc"....- Finally after a worrisome debate with myself- I took a chance and downloaded driver and it works on my mac (phew!) Apparently a reckless error on the manual's part. Can't seem to get a million icons off my desktop after download- (they take up a lot of room)- And when I try to put "glossy paper"- it keeps saying it can't print it (and rejects it- have to press stop)- something about wrong mode- very vague- so I leave it at normal paper and it prints. I wanted to print some notecards- but you can't feed anything sideways- there is a very narrow paper margin and that is it, you cannot adjust it. (which left me having to try and fiddle with avery's notecards) and I finally gave up. (trying to move a text box on the avery doc- was ridiculously hard). Add to the fact- the ink is almost more expensive than the printer- my other epson's which i loved- you could buy no name toner at 5$ a pop- but there is very little online inkr you can buy for this one (they probably designed it this way). We shall see how many notecards I can print for these 2 $40.00 cartridges. oh and it said i had to print a test copy at the beginning to realign the print heads?!!! adn then scan it- but the thing wasn't clear on how to scan and didn't do it- so luckily it still worked without the scan (however this was another hour lost with fiddling).. with an unclear instruction. apparently there is toll free tech support so hopefully this will make things a bit more worthwhile. I needed a printer fast for a project- which is why I disregarded the expensive ink- but if you had more time- you might want to shop around a bit. It did come very quickly and it was inexpensive- so I don't want to totally wring its neck. I am grateful to this company for providing this so quickly and in great shape.- the printer requires patience if you're a non techie....
