Counter Rotating Rotary Scissors are the way to go.
Normal string trimmers send stuff flying all over the place, events that I can attest to personally: gravel that shatters windows, plant debris covering your legs and shoes including poison ivy and biting/stinging red ants. Power Rotary Scissors puts all of that to an end. Just be sure to grease the thing before every use as indicated on the device and in the instructions. Counter-rotating-rotary is far superior to linear reciprocating, far more efficient and able to shear 360 degrees. As far as this particular implementation, the first, OMG high quality aluminum and steel that you expect from "Made in Japan" vice elsewhere. Their online catalog shows 220, 230 and 280mm steel blades with different cutting abilities. The only downsides I find with this product is expected and unavoidable, it is heavier than a minimal plastic string head and the blades will eventually need sharpened with a file. The former is due to the heavy-duty quality and the latter is mitigated by quality steel blades, not having to constantly buy/replace string and the fact that replacement blades are sold separately. This easily gets right up on smooth vertical surfaces like walkway edges and building foundations without damage. Also much safer than string, plastic knife or steel knife trimmer heads. The kit includes sleeves and adaptors for most string trimmers, I fit this on a Ryobi 430 that I have had for several years. Ryobi uses the 1" tube "Expand-it" architecture like many others. Remove the plastic string head and mount this on a straight bottom shaft. All I had to use was the square drive adapter, no sleeve. I cut the bottom out of a bucket for a close quarters guard for getting right up on chain link fence and anything else that might slip between the teeth. I have also replaced the grease hole screws with grease zerks so I can just use my grease gun. One 5x0.8mm thread x 5.5mm long and one or two 6x1.0mm thread x 5.4mm long zerks. BOTH future product accessories I recommend. Kudo's to IDECH Corporation for this invention. IMHO, truly awesome sauce for a first implementation.

I have had many mods,FV,VV,VW and TP the DNA200 is the best so far.
I still have early version 2s of the DNA40 and a version 4. Those along with three DNA200s are my gotos. I have the SX350J, Kangswin, Wadea, and VTC. The Evolv Vapor tech just provides a better vape experience. User settable features like ohms lock and Kanthal Power limit, software interface and firmware upgradeable, liveview and uploadable TCR curves through Escribe make this a no brainer for $20 more than a DNA40 board. Add to it switches already on the board so solid buttons are all that are needed. I fit this with a cradle, a 2200maH LiPO with XT70 connectors in a 1590G style box. The DNA200 doesn't suffer from screen scramble issues like the early DNA40 did. Built in LiPo balance charger for 3S. Just connect a USB cable for charging. I have produced my own TCR curves with a thermocouple multimeter and liveview resistance measurement and after upload, find the DNA200 maintains build temperature to within one degree of set temp. You can set the watthour capacity to match your battery of choice making the battery indicator more accurate which fixes another DNA40 issue. You can run a battery test with a 510 load and a mod resistance test with a 510 shorting plug. You may never need the 200W it is capable of but the added features this has over the DNA40 and the accuracy of Evolv tech makes this a winner.
