BLACK + DECKER CHV1410L 16 volt Lithium Cordless Dust Buster Hand Vac, New
09 February 2017
Many models to choose
This has been the best 'Dustbuster' I have ever used. It is powerful and keeps a charge long enough to vacuum the car, small cleanups and even spot cleaning a few rooms. I like the charging base, but if you like a wall mount, this is not the mode. It is bag-less, but you will need to pull and rinse out the filter cup periodically, especially if you have pet hair to deal with. There are dozens of B&D cordless vac models. I recommend the lithium battery and above the 12V configuration. These batteries do not get a memory of short use or negatively impacted by being on the charger between uses. The downside is that after 2 years of use, the battery quit with no symptoms. It simply would not hold a charge. So I bought another, as I believe it is worth it. But I disassembled my old one (easy to do) and found the battery pack inside is removable. I will take it to Batteries Plus and see if there is value in replacing the battery pack as opposed to buying a new vac. I have read the batteries are nearly as expensive as a new vac, but with lithium batteries more commonplace, hopefully that is no longer the case. Still I can use the old one for the porch and garage and the new one indoors for lesser messes.
