Rugged Protection - Water Resistant for the 5 & 5s

Superficial reason I like it: I do like the color scheme of white-blue-gray. It suits me. Superficial reason I am disappointed: I wish it didn't discolor from exposure to sunlight and I wish they didn't stop making this color scheme. Why I like and prefer this product: This Otterbox is well built for protection. I have a rough job and phones can die quickly with me if not protected. This one is also water resistant which makes a difference to me and why I picked it. The two snap-latches that lock the whole thing together are very positive and they keep the rubber seals together tightly. They are easy to operate, which makes opening it back up a breeze. Just pop those two latches to take the sides apart and remove the phone. I prefer this to the snap cases since I often need to remove the phone from it. I have a FLIR One thermal camera I sometimes use in my business and I have to remove this case when I use it. It really does a great job of protecting the phone from damage and water. I accidentally ran it through a wash cycle with my uniforms. My stomach dropped when I saw my phone at the bottom of the wash tub as I removed the clothes. Not the first time it happened to a phone of mine, but it was the first time it didn't cost me a working phone. Luckily, the tabs that seal the lightning port were pushed in. The dang thing worked flawlessly right off the bat. I still took the phone out and set the case on top of my gas water heater for the night - that closet will dehydrate anything. The thickness of it all may be too much for someone trying to keep things as slim as possible. If "sleek" is your desire then this one is not for you. Please send me all your Artic Otterbox Armor for 5s and I will save you from the despair of owning one! I'm thoughtful and generous like that. :-)
