Not quite plug and play, but close enough and unbeatable price!
I have an old house(built 1973), no cable outlets, didn't feel like stringing cable throughout and using multiple splitters and signal filters, so this seemed a good option. Plugged it in, computer didn't recognize it, couldn't search for installation programming because it wasn't connected to the net. Ah, I see, have to use an installation cd and reboot before it'll work. A little old school, don't know why they couldn't include the install files on the stick itself(just like a standard memory stick), but for the price, I'm not going to cry about it. Receives fine anywhere in the house, haven't tried it outside or past 35 feet so don't know what the range limits are, but it does what I need it to, so it's all good to me. An old school desktop has been converted to wireless convenience, for less than ten dollars. Can't beat that!
