Better for younger players (6-12 yrs)
I bought the Rio Wii game for my son who loves the movie and Wii. The games are easy enough that anyone can play (can't gurantee you'll win). You can't seem to play the same game multiple times, or my son just likes to progress though the carnival of activities faster than I'd like to play. The rounds are short, so for inexperienced players getting the hang of what buttons to push and timing isn't easy to pick up. Sure you can muddle through, but I would have more fun if the rounds were a little longer. Given there are some of the games with multiple rounds, there is a chance to redeem your standing.
Up to 4 players (controller + nunchuck required) can play against eachother or in two teams. The computer fills up any empty player spots. Jewel (as the computer) is hard to beat! Quite a competitive bird.
3/5 rating is with other Wii games I've played in mind, it's a combination of this game and how it compares in the world of Wii. I prefer the racing games (Mario Kart) and brain-teasers (World of Goo), and the classic Mario games.
Rio for Wii uses the recognizable characters, both in appearance and voices. The layout of some games makes it hard to see your player as you collect fruit. The rooftop with Nigel is slow to respond (or I didn't understand the instructions), after a maximum time limit is reached and I was still at the bottom of the rooftop, the game forces and end and I was in last place.
This might be good for a group of younger players, there's enough to play that they won't give up or be bored after 5 minutes.

Baby Einstein DVD
0 of 2 found this helpful I bought this DVD for my 11 month old son. He has a few other Baby Einstein dvd's (Numbers, Languages, and one other one I can't remember) - he just loves these! However, it took a few times for him to catch on to the Beethoven dvd. The music is pretty good, and there's some cool toys shown (he liked the train). It might have been better to start with this one when he was first interested in looking at the tv (6-7 months), it seems a bit boring for an 11 month old. If there's a Baby Einstein that only has the puppets and music, please let me know - my son adores the puppets!
I would recommend this to 6-8 month olds who are laid back (or save it for quiet time before or after a nap). For older baby's, who are laughing :) , 10-12 months, I recommend Baby DaVinci, or Numbers instead. Cognitively, these are more suitable.
