Compact size, but lots of sound.
1 of 1 found this helpful This compact audio amplifier will do the job for area sound reinforcement or background music, or for lots of volume in near field use. On the downside, its bass boost button hardly makes any noticeable difference, and the amp's low end rolloff attenuates low bass tones (below about 50 HZ). Otherwise, it is versatile with its available RCA and mini phone jack inputs. Also, it has adequate gain for an average line level input, or low impedance mp3 headset signal.

Adapter can't contain itself.
1 of 1 found this helpful Although a relatively good value, it fell apart. When I got it, to check the fit, I tried attaching this adapter to the end of a PL259 plug on the end of a cable. Upon connecting it, on the BNC end the internal white plastic sleeve and brass pin connector slid out the open end. Apparently, if the BNC end is connected first then it cannot fall apart when the PL259 plug is connected. But it hardly seems this should be required. I solved the problem by using a coating of cyanoacrylate (superglue type) cement on the sides of the brass pin where it passes through the sleeve, and the outsides of the white sleeve, then fitting the assembly together again. This has made the product sturdy, while still maintaining a solid connection.

Nice, Rugged Condenser Microphone
For the money, this discontinued rugged electret condenser microphone offers a very flat, natural response (20HZ - 20KHZ), with a warm proximity effect in close work. It is not suitable for phantom power, as it must be powered by its AA cell, which offers a surprisingly long life of 3,500 hours owing to the low drain. The only downside to this model is its relatively low output level. If used in average to high-level sound sources it will perform nicely. But if low level sounds are the subject, then preamp background noise may be an issue.
