Does the minimum really well, other features not available
I bought this unit because I am sold on the value of having your speed display in the line of site from other vehicles. Speedometers are now often small and the gradients to pick out your speed can be difficult at a rapid glance. And that is a glance not looking at the road.
This unit is meant to both show the speed and navigation guidance. It does the speed thing really well including your cruise setting, elevation and power figures (if you care) but the navigation feature apparently requires a Garmin HUD App that is not available in Australia. It may be that other models of BMW may support this feature but when I asked BMW's international support group for this device they said it was "not meant for the Australian market".
I may still have bought it because it is a genuine BMW product and the quality is great, but it is an expensive addition and there are other much cheaper aftermarket HUD's if your are not so fussy. Be aware that the installation process for this one is not for someone who is not at ease with wires, connectors and pulling apart some panels to access them.
