Icom IC-706MKIIG Marine Transceiver Tested with manual
    30 October 2020
    NOT A MARINE RADIO!
DECEPTIVE LISTING. The Icom IC-706MkIIG is NOT an HF Marine radio! It is a great radio for amateur HF/VHF/UHF but it is not approved for Marine HF frequency use and is not built to the seaworthiness and stability standards required for a Marine HF radio. FCC regulations require that an amateur station on a vessel shall be separate form the marine radio. It is OK to program amateur radio frequencies into a certified marine HF radio (and to use those frequencies IF you are a licensed radio amateur), but not the other way around. The previous owner has apparently performed an easy modification that makes this radio capable of transceiving outside of the amateur radio bands. This radio's specifications are not designed or guaranteed for that purpose. Installing this for use as your only means of HF Marine communications would be very, very unwise. It does not have any of the features currently standard in Marine HF radios such as the Global Marine Distress and Calling System. The radio is not impervious to corrosion from sea environment, nor does it meet the shock and vibration standards you want in a Marine HF radio. If you have a ham license, it is a great radio for that purpose but you want a real Marine HF radio for Marine HF use. You could program some Marine HF channels into this one for use in the event that your main Marine HF radio failed, but you should NOT otherwise use this radio for transmitting on Marine HF channels.

Stearns Type III PFD Flotation Jacket Coat Coast Guard Approved Adult XL. (h)

    Fit for its purpose
Seems to be light on flotation material in the chest and shoulders. Not faded and although not yet wet-tested, appears to be in excellent condition and capable of serving it's intended purpose as a flotation aid, not a primary Type III PFD. Well-packed, quickly shipped. No complaints.
