Exmoor via the Welsh hills
1 of 1 found this helpful This version of Lorna Doone gets closer to the book than some remakes, bringing in some characters that don't always get a mension. It varies from the original start, having young Jan Ridd witness the murder of his father at the hands of the evil Carver Doone,rather than being fetched from Tiverton school after the event.
The film was shot on location in Wales rather than on Exmoor where the story is set, but the scenery is just as stunning, though the accents are not spot on.A very enjoyable and atmospheric version.
