CLINT EASTWOOD FAMOUS AS SANTA CLAUS?
What can you say about an actor (Clint Eastwood) who has entered the human consiousness (I think worldwide) as identifiably famous as Santa Claus by uttering a few lines in a tight-lipped delivery, and who shoots straight and then strides away. He barely shrugs his shoulders... Put him next to Samuel Beckett with his relentless anti-heroes and look at the last few decades of presidential American history and see which of the tall, macho, vigilantes wins the day... uh... no contest? And which will "save the world?" I vote for the ones waiting for Godot myself... But there is a refreshing lack of moral shading in these cowboy flicks that you know translates quicker into the American Way (where are those Indian cemeteries again?)

POETRY UNITED IN ALL ITS STATES
This is a great CD, especially for anyone who saw the video version, reminding us of the variety and excitement of American poetry and our variegated poets. The sound is great, and the uncanny patchwork of, well, work.

    THE THREE ANGELS LIVE
What's great about this CD is that it's a live poetry reading by these three Beat poets and ancient friends and completely candid goofballs doing a round robin reading, each reading four or their poems, and it captures the atmosphere of off-the-cuff remarks and their naked poems... Great flavor, two of them now gone from us, Ginsberg and Corso, and Peter Orlovsky lost somewhere in New York... as per November 2006, as far as I know... Knowing all three of them personally also gave it extra spark for me...
