Heartbreaking, but compelling

Mans inhumanity to man is bought into sharp reality in this book. It is truly amazing what some are able to endure. Alistair Urquhart was just an ordinary lad, like so many others who went to war. Well written and easy to read, I simply couldn't put this book down... A must read for those interested in the men who survived the horror of war.
