Printer saved from landfil with a simple solution!
1 of 1 found this helpful Fitted it today in a matter of minutes. The instructions are pictorial and clearly define the process, making sure that illustrations also show what not to do.
Epson wanted almost five times the cost to fit new waste ink pads (almost as much as a new printer!), so this product represents extremely good value. It simply sits behind the printer (out of the way) and cannot be seen.
I waited until the printer stopped working before fitting it and the downloaded software and key worked perfectly. The design to cripple the printer simply because an internal waste ink tank is full is never made clear when the printer is sold, and I see it as a design flaw. Having removed the original tank (following the instructions) there is no reason why this should not be a user exchangeable item (speaking as a retired design engineer).
The printer has always provided clear printing, so the thought of committing it to landfil was one that I could not be comfortable with. The bottle filling is great and provides low cost inkjet printing, so now it can produce many more pages with its Printer Potty.
