    Thumbs up for both.
I bought these for my grandchildren, 7, 5, and 3. They all love Batman, (and superhero's in general). Due to their young ages, I wanted something exciting, adventureous, but not too violent. I previewed thse before letting them watch, and found them to be alright and not too scary for the little one. What cartoon...superhero or otherwise, doesn't have some questionable parts? They did in my day too. I just watch it with them and if it's not to our standards, I tell them "those actions are not acceptable in real life", and we talk about why. They catch on.

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins
(2004, VHS) I bought this with my grandchildren in mind because they all loved "Toy Story" and thought this would be a great add-on. The graphics and colors are vibrant and clear, as in all Pixar productions. However, there seems to be a higher degree of violence than in the "Toy Story" films. It depicts life events... betrayal of a friend, and commradery from unexpected sources. All in all, it is an enjoyable story, but I'm not sure I'll give it to them to watch just yet. They are 6 and 4 years, and seem to get enough rough play as it is.

    Fun for Beginning Readers!
This is a very cute Scooby Doo book with all the gang. My grandsons 7 & 5 are really into Scoob, and this is good reading practice for the 7 year old. He likes reading it to his siblings. It's a fun introduction to reading for the 5 year old...with the pictures inserted where the words go. I bought it to encourage reading and because they both love Scooby, I knew they would be eager to read it.
