Anger Is An Energy!
I was given a ticket to see PiL in concert and, as I hadn't listened to them before, thought I better familiarize myself. I'm glad I did.
Spiky, and not for the faint hearted - as you would expect from a band with John Lydon as frontman - PiL are also dubby, danceable in places, and wholly original.
Musically at least, they seem to be more radical than the Sex Pistols, and certainly more personal - Johnny's singing expresses more than simple rage or contempt - there seems to be genuine catharsis on display. Rousing, radical, righteous - check this record out.
And they're even better live!
