A true pageturner!
I could not put this book down from the moment I received it. Mr. Maguire again wrote a wonderful novel that is funny, thrilling, sad, and yet oh-so-familiar with the Oz background.
The book starts out where Wicked left off. Elphaba (the Witch) is dead, but her son lives on. He begins a journey that ends up being his young adulthood. The characters are wonderfully written, you feel like you know these people. The son, Liir, isn't perfect and that's the odd thing. You still root for him over and over even as he makes these heinous mistakes. Many of the same people from Wicked are back also. Nutty Nanny, Shell (the brother of the Wicked Witches), crazy old Yackle, Chistery the Flying Monkey, etc.
I have been asked what age group should read this novel and I hate to say it but over 18 is what I recommend unless you don't care what your children read. The book talks about sex frequently, and homosexuality plays a part. Sorry if that's a spoiler but I would rather that people know.
But all in all, this is a wonderfully talented writer taking the fictional world as we know it, turning it upside down and shaking it over and over. It is an amazing book, I read it in four days even working part-time. THAT IS HOW GOOD THIS IS!! If you like this type of book you won't be able to put it down.
I can't wait to read the other books of his that I have coming! :D
The only downside to the entire book...Mr. Maguire leaves us hanging at the end...foretelling another sequel, which is obviously not out yet. Sigh! Anyway, enjoy this wonderful book! I sure did!

Provocative and exciting!!
1 of 1 found this helpful If you like Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, then you need to read her erotica!! Exit to Eden and Belinda and not for the sexually squeamish, but are exciting and thrilling. They are almost like soft-core porn, except that they actually have a great storyline! These are fabulous books, and genuine classics.
Exit to Eden and Belinda both are wonderful! Must-reads!

Dry humor, witty, hilarious and entertaining
2 of 2 found this helpful What more can I say about this book, no, the whole series of Miss Julia books. I grabbed the first Miss Julia book at Sam's Club, looking for a light book for the pool years ago. After that first book I fell in love. The elderly lady (Miss Julia) is hilarious!! The situations that she gets in to are absolutely crazy, but not predictable. You have to love this lady, and the books keep getting better and better.
I bought this book because I wanted to have the whole series on my book shelf. They are laugh-out-loud funny, and completely re-readable. This is a fabulous book, the whole series is entertaining and quick-witted.
