A very enjoyable set for someone who enjoys English History.
1 of 1 found this helpful I happened to buy this set, at the very time I was re-reading "Churchill's History of the
English Speaking Peoples." By coincidence, I arrived at period depicted in the "First Churchills,"
exactly at the same time that I reached the same period in Churchill's 4 volume set.
I was amazed at how faithful the DVDs were to what Churchill had written.
I remember watching the "First Churchills" when it first aired on PBS many years ago.
I found it as enjoyable now, as I did them.

It moves beautifully and briskly to detail lives in the English Countryside in the early part of the
20th century, upstairs and downstairs in home of an English Earl through war and peace as times
and mores changes.
