Not cheap

Second one I bought this month. First was was described as EX but wasn't. Seller didn't know the difference. Returned. This is new and much better and more expensive. Instructions are OK and when installed on my Mini Cooper it seems quite stable but it needs more road testing. There is no reasonable alternative and I really looked.

Tablet Holder - How convenient?

I play in a small Ukelele band, so, I carry a music stand. I kept the stand but got rid of the folding music tray and now use my tablet for reading music. I attached the tablet holder to the vertical pole of the music stand. It needs to be portable which means a lot of unscrewing and screwing back of the holder. It sticks out at 90 degrees, so, with a tablet attached, it needs to be pretty tight to hold the tablet. For carrying, the music stand collapses but the tablet holder is very ungainly unless it is detatched after each use. Also, the grips hold the long edge of the tablet, which is fine in landscape orientation but for portrait (which is how my music is best read) the grips must be very tight to stop the tablet from dropping through. Overall, it works, even with its limitations and I cannot find another that will take my Samsung 10.5 tablet.

Bags of Room

Road tested these on trip to Norfolk. Easy access and simple to mount and unmount after carrying bike on 4 trains it was important to be able to take them off quickly. Never got near filling them. My Alturas eventually came apart at a seam after only 12 years.
