Widows Walk
Robert Parker uses Spenser and his friends to blend humor and mystery. The characters he creates are serious about their careers and very good at what they do; so good that they can "rib" one another and not get upset. You can easily visualize them being real. The mystery keeps twisting while you say to yourself "I wonder if that could happen" to "I think I heard something about that on the news.
The story is read by Joe Mantegna. He brings the whole thing to life as I would in my mind but could never do aloud. He is a star.
