Great pedal

I use this as a really dirty overdrive/distortion and it is great with solid state amps. I am yet to try it on a valve amp, but I am very pleased with it. Much better than the combo drive BC-2 (which is better on valve amps but not SS). I also use a Distortion DS-1 pedal for a cleaner distortion and get all the distortion variations I need.
