Worth every penny....REALITY....
This is a very underrated release and what Monk does with the Bass Guitar is original & pure in all aspects. Let's not forget he has been playing the Fender Bass since the 1950's and whilst a lot of upright players and engineers would cringe at the sight of it with the help of ground breakers like Monk it has become a part of music history..

Pure quality worth every £ not spent.
I had been after this recording for some time but the vinyl price was very expensive so you can imagine my joy at seeing it available & at a great price. This 7 track CD produced by Larry Mizell & Chuck Davis is a classic production and the great line up to match. On this release Bobbi sings and what a lite soprano voice she has as well, not quite the same range as Miss Riperton but never the less very good. On "you make me feel so good" this,for me is the stand out two step track written by the Mizell bros and with bass player Chuck Rainy playing like only he can play in the bottom register this cut has PLAY ME written all over it.
All in all I would recommend this to any Jazz Funk listener and wait for their reaction. Great purchase great Artist.....

Music to my ears.
If you like the funky side of Dr Donald Byrd then this would be a superb place to start. The compilation covers his 70s material and the close musical relationship with two of his then students Larry & Fonce Mizell who produced the majority of this compilation. Value for money and a great front cover enjoy.
