Not so fresh
About a quarter of the leaves were rotting and had to be picked off and thrown away. I felt the rest would not last long so froze them. Seems the leaves had been too long in a damp plastic bag without refrigeration - maybe this was due to the longer than usual delivery time.

Not great value, especially if you own his previous books
Simon Hopkinson is a great cook and cookery writer with an excellent repertoire of classic recipes but this book seems insubstantial. Large blank pages for chapter headers and many photos spread out the recipes, a good few of which are repeated from his “Roast Chicken...” books. So, if this is your first of his books and you can buy for a few pounds it’s worth it for some engaging food writing and delicious recipes, but if you already own his previous publications I wouldn’t bother.
