Tape measure was listed as NOS. It appears to have been used quite a bit as it had rust. It is possible that it is just old but the package that it came in was nothing but the back panel, no pastic wrap to indicate it was nos.

The tape measure is a NOS tool. There may be very minute surface rust on it due to age as it was in storage for nearly sixty-years. The hang card is the only "packaging" used at that time by Sears and remains that way today for all manufacturers of measuring tapes. Please contact seller to arrange return and refund if dissatisfied with purchase.

Great Book!! A Must Own!!
Fantastic illustrated history of the U.S. Navy. Detailed research and documentation by the author. A must-own for a military historian or a fan of the service. Very few books in print today on this topic would compare to this one.
