Painfully honest recollection of a terrible war, fought far from home.
An excellent book, written by a soldier who had 'been there, done that'. Despite his experiences in the war, and his longer experiences as a Prisoner of War, he continued his military service on his return to the UK. If you're interested in Korean modern history, or British military history of overseas conflicts, this must be on your reading list.

A massive mine of useful facts/data cleverly restrained within paper covers
As the Guardian newspaper said "The best narrative history of the Korean conflict." And I agree. All other books about the Korean War hang on to this and, if Korean modern history is your interest, you will be doing yourself a huge favour by starting with this. It pulls no punches and shows no bias.

The thought of 'vengeance' is sweet but . . .
An excellent film - beautiful photography, very well acted, highly amusing (in a very black kind of way!). I'm sure we've all been faced with the opportunity of vengeance against some wrong-doer but have we ever carried it out? You'll not be disappointed with Lady Vengeance, and you'll also want to see 'Old Boy' and 'Sympathy with Mr Vengeance'. Five stars is not enough!
