Camera purchased to photo young grandchildren
I have another digital camera but it takes a long time, to open the lense,
set the zoom, and after pressing the 'take picture' button, it then 'thinks'
for some 8-10 seconds. After all this delay it is impossible to catch a grandchild 'in the moment'. End up with lots of photos of the children, out ot camera, or looking away,
This camera was chosen as it was 'Kodak' and 'simple'.(+cheap)
I have not yet tried it with the 'real grandchildren', but it does appear
to do what I want.
See the photo I want to capture, pick up the camaera, aim shoot. All in
just a few seconds.
By the way Microsoft XP, recognised the camera, offered me software and tranferred the photos. They look fine. No need for a manual - its obvious
I plan to high resolution to take photo then use 'crop' to achieve the 'zoom'.
On replay, it supports x2 zoom - picture split into 4- confusing!

JVC GZ-MG36EK 30Gb WideScreen PAL HDD Camcorder
This is not the GZ-MG77. Do be careful when buying a camcorder, some are NTSC.
The UK PAL is 720 wide x 576 pixels high at 25 fps but NTSC has 720 x 480 at 30 fps. Of course software can interpolate, but its not the same. I have a GZ-MG24EK 20Gb, which does not have such a wide screen, I liked the MG24EK and wanted another. I have a grandchild and want to leave two camcorders running at different angles, whilst I play with her.
The feature I least like is the zoom. I am old and find the zoom goes too quickly for me. With my VHS-C camcoder I purchased a wide angle lense, for shots indoors, So I could get everyone in the room. I cannot do that, or perhaps there is a way but I haven't found the feature. It is feature rich.
