An excellently produced video.
This is one of the best video production on narrow gauge railways I have seen. The commentary is very informative and overall covers a broad range of gauges, types of traction and countries.

The brothers Bauer.
This I am sure is the definitive work on the amazing talents of the Bauer brothers, notably of Franz and Ferdinand. Researched in great depth by Professor Walter Lack a great authority on Botanical illustration; it draws on and greatly complements the work of many other authors. It covers their upbringing within a princely court, apprenticeship under notable botanical artists and the development of their careers in Europe and in Ferdinand's case botanical explorations to the Middle East and notably Australia. Describes in great detail his work on one of the greatest of the early flora, that of Greece. Franz's association with Sir Joseph Banks and his move to Kew is covered in great detail, including his ground breaking illustrated studies with a microscope. There are numerous coloured plates of all three brothers work as well as extremely useful maps showing the travels of these three highly talented artists. It is a heavy well presented tome.

.
An extremely well researched account of the life and work of a naturalist who was passionate about informing and encouraging others to appreciate the wonders of Nature. His artistic skills and his prodigious production of guides, handbooks, etc., provided much information that inspired many like-minded souls to go out and discover and importantly identify fauna, flora, sea creatures, fungi and many other organisms. The father of a dynasty of natural historians and accomplished artists.
