Push and pull solonoid

Depending on how you mount it can push or pull. However the force generated is very variable depending on the position of the rod. Max force is when the rod is in and at the start the force is very much less. The 12v rating is only for short periods NO WAY CONTINUOUS say a minute and the device heats up quickly. I used mine at 24v to provide a big instant push to operate a device, At this power you must limit the on time to say 2 seconds. Much longer heats up jams and burns out. Great care in how you use it but can be very useful,
