This works great in my 2012 Q5. Zero connection issues.
I have his in my Audi Q5 (2012 with B&O). Works great. The 8 pin lightening cable charges my iPhone 6s and the 3.5mm aux feeds the sound through the MMI aux function and sounds good. I only wish the cable were longer to reach outside the glovebox to the center console.

Best value I've found on eBay for smart phone mount
I bought 3 to have the same mount in my cars; Audi S8, Chevy Tahoe and BMW X3. Super easy to use, adjustable viewing angle, cheap price, effective magnetic mount.
They work great IF you mount them correctly. The instructions say to,clean the surface with alcohol wipes (provided) then mount the 3M adhesive base and let it sit with no load for 72 hours. Do this and they work great. Avoid areas treated with armor-all or similar product unless you get all that shiny stuff off prior to mounting.
