Westerns make life a enjoyable career.
This is a terrific book, and one that makes enjoyable reading. Many stories which brings back great memories, and John Wayne's contribution made it more special.
I bought the book for my oldest son, who has been in Law Enforcement for 27 years, with John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and Chuch Norris as his idols and inspiration.

I enjoyed learning about Joe Beeler and his artistic/life struggles.
I found this book a welcome addition to a Western Horseman magazine that profiled a painting by Joe Beeler; and this became my introduction to the Cowboy Artists of America. I painted a copy of the Western Horseman "Roped but not Branded" painting by Joe Beeler, and have been a big fan of his since that time in the early '80's. This book gave me a greater understanding of what Joe went through, along with his family to become the wonderful public artist he became. His legacy will live as long as there are people who appreciate the art produced by the gifted men and women who portray a way of life that keep hearts and memories stirred by their capturing this great way of life; the men, women, horses and scenery that will live for us who knew and loved this life, forever! Thank you
