Avoid these are such poor quality as to be dangerous and unusable - purchased several for a family party, resulted in two nasty cuts to hands and others just failed. utter rubbish

Was great
in 2020 a bit long in the tooth. These very much suffer from damage to the lens - not sure if the coating is soft or the glass but examples often have chips to the lens. Drop the camera and its scrap - the optical unit cost £120 from Canon. Occasionally it gives up all together. The positives great to use and brilliant image quality. Look for a little used example - check the lens surface and enjoy the results of an excellent example.

Excellent - the D300s even better the twin card feature is a winner

its a great camera - heavy but certainly not like a toy as so many others are. the D300s is better and worth the difference.
the nikon range is outstanding in the ability to use older lenses - and of course the D300 has a built in focus motor so it has maximum flexibiity, I have used a 200mm f4 I purcased from FFORDES in 1978 with outstanding results - just as all the Nikon digital range simlpy do not use the very old non AI lenses and these will damage the aperture regster or the 21mm F4 mirror up lens...
