A great addition
I am a great cook and this book rounds out my library with the sauces, dressings, and variety of ethnic food recipes that are easy to make. I trust Tyler because he is well traveled and his tv shows are just fabulous in both the types of foods he chooses to prepare and the ease with which he prepares them. I tried two already and they did not disappoint.

Not compelling but beautiful
My niece was thrilled to get this for a gift for her newborn. When I read it I thought it was a little light on content.

A good resource book for Guatemalan cooking
I got this book at a bargain price used because my friend adopted a Guatemalan child and we often try to make Guatemalan recipes. Many you find online are not really authentic. The author actually cooked in the various regions of Guatemala offering distinct dishes from the diverse cooking regions. He includes a glossary of terms which is helpful and anecdotes which reveal his passion for this research. I have enjoyed reading it and will use it with my little Guatemalan friend as she continues to explore her roots.
