MEET THE FEEBLES is sometimes feeble!
I wanted to buy this movie because of the basic idea of the film. It is a puppet movie ,something akin to the muppets.THE MUPPETS ON CRACK!I also wanted to check it out because it was partially written and wholly directed by Peter Jackson of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and King Kong fame.This was one of Mr. Jackson's early works, long before great special effects and obviously long before big budgets. This film is shameless and crude in its soap opera like portrayal of "puppet like" people putting on a show.(sound familiar?)It is even insinuated that one of the puppets has acquired a deadly sexually transmitted disease. As crude and shameless as it is, it is not without its very comic moments. But most of these moments rely on the parody and satire of puppets behaving in such a graphic and adult manner rather than any truly comic dialog or farcical situation. As an avid DVD / movie collector I am glad to add this to my collection and will pull it out from time to time when I want to show my friends something weird and off beat. I will have to make sure , as should you, to not let children watch this movie. It is definitely not for the kiddies. I recommend this movie to the avid collector and Peter Jackson fan.
